Some people are driven by a passion for learning—challenging their weaknesses, leaning into their strengths, and tackling things that most would call difficult. That’s me.
I started making wine in my garage 15 years ago—not because it was familiar or something I’d been trained for, but precisely because it wasn’t. It was completely different from anything I knew. But I was hooked. What started as a curiosity about good wine—how something seemingly simple could hold so much nuance and complexity—quickly became a passion… and a bit of an obsession. I had to figure it out.
A lot of wine came out of that garage. Some of it was good. Some of it… wasn’t. But every vintage taught me something new.
One day, while visiting a winery in Washington State, a winemaker suggested I take the leap and apply to the Enology Certificate Program at Washington State University. That conversation pushed a very large boulder off a very tall hill—and here I am, still making wine, still learning, and now doing my best to share it with as many people as possible.
It’s still a hobby. It’s still a challenge. But now it’s a dream I get to pour into a bottle.
